Have you noticed some changes/additions in our recent bulletins?
Are you wondering what
Disciples of the Altar is?
In the gospels of Matthew (chapter 26, verses 17-19); Mark (chapter 14, verses12-16); and Luke (chapter 22, verses 7-12), the disciples ask Jesus “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?” Jesus instructs the disciples to go into the city where you will meet a man carrying a jug of water, follow him. Wherever he enters say to the Master of the house, “the Teacher says, where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples? He will show you a large upper room.
Make preparations for us there.”
We are Christ’s disciples in the modern world.
We are the men and women of SFDS Parish. Christ is asking
us to prepare God’s house and Altar for the Holy celebration of the Mass every week. As His disciples we clean the Church, prepare the altar linens and arrange the flowers.
It is not a job,
IT IS a Holy Ministry. It takes only a few hours or less of your time each week.
Think about it! - when you enter the church for Mass you will know you have been part of preparing God’s House , making it beautiful for Celebration of the Mass.
We invite you to consider becoming a member of the this ministry or the many others in the parish. No experience needed. We will train you.
Please contact the Parish office for more information or to leave your name and contact information. We are looking for individuals as well as couples. I will contact you directly once I receive your information.
